When Hurricane Helene interrupted my client’s Asheville wedding plans in 2024, my team helped search for a replacement. Looking for a home where family could stay was one part of the job. Confirming that a wedding was actually allowed was another.
Updated October 15, 2026. This guide replaces the old spreadsheet signup. There is no download form to fill out. The rental names from my original research are historical leads to check, not verified current wedding venues.
Before you book a rental for your wedding
A place that sleeps your guests is not automatically a wedding venue. Check the platform policy, the current listing rules and local requirements, then describe your whole plan to the property manager. Ask for written confirmation of what is permitted before you pay.
Airbnb’s Community Disturbance Policy prohibits open invitation parties, disruptive gatherings and other community disturbances. A host’s approval does not override the platform’s rules.
- Confirm overnight occupancy separately from the number of people attending the ceremony or reception.
- Ask about event fees, parking, bathrooms, outside vendors, music and the time everyone must leave.
- Get a rain plan and check accessibility for the people coming with you.
- Read the cancellation terms and confirm what happens if the property becomes unavailable.
Start with the location
Think about where you want to get ready, hold the ceremony and celebrate afterward. A downtown Wilmington house and a beach rental can create very different travel and parking needs. Keep the day manageable for your guests and vendors.
My original research included names such as Sea La Vie, Snow’s Cut Chateau, Walker World Experience and Biedenbach Beach House, plus several listings described only as oceanfront or oceanview houses. Confirm the exact property and current rules directly. Bedroom counts and advertised amenities from the old article are not current guarantees.
Questions for your property manager
Describe the ceremony, reception, guest count and vendors separately. Ask whether day visitors are allowed, where vehicles can park and whether there is a suitable indoor backup. Check any beach ceremony requirements with the relevant town, separately from the house rental.
