In September 2024, Hurricane Helene disrupted my client’s wedding plans in Asheville. With the wedding a week away, my assistant and I started looking for another place where her family could stay and celebrate together.
We contacted property owners, compared options and found a place for her wedding. That search became this resource.

Before you book a rental for your wedding
A place that sleeps your guests is not automatically a wedding venue. Check the platform policy, the current listing rules and local requirements, then describe your whole plan to the property manager. Ask for written confirmation of what is permitted before you pay.
Airbnb’s Community Disturbance Policy prohibits open invitation parties, disruptive gatherings and other community disturbances. A host’s approval does not override the platform’s rules.
- Confirm overnight occupancy separately from the number of people attending the ceremony or reception.
- Ask about event fees, parking, bathrooms, outside vendors, music and the time everyone must leave.
- Get a rain plan and check accessibility for the people coming with you.
- Read the cancellation terms and confirm what happens if the property becomes unavailable.
Properties from my North Carolina search
My original notes included French Country Farm Escape, Kenwood Villa and Parkton Outdoor Venue, along with Beautiful Lake House with a View, The Oasis at Lake Gaston, Viewtopia, Endless Summer, Abbey Manor, Farm Retreat and Luxury Oceanfront Rental.
Some of these are broad listing names. Verify the exact address and current manager rather than assuming a similarly named listing is the same property. My client chose French Country Farm Escape for her wedding in 2024; that experience does not confirm its current availability or rules.
Compare a rental with a dedicated wedding venue
A rental may bring everyone under one roof, but add up the whole cost: lodging, approved event fees, furniture, catering, cleanup and any equipment you need. Compare that with a venue that already has space and facilities for a wedding.
