Can you have a wedding at an Airbnb?
A rental’s bedroom count does not establish permission for a ceremony or reception. Airbnb’s current Community Disturbance Policy prohibits disruptive gatherings and open-invite parties; host permission cannot override platform rules.
Before booking, describe the ceremony, total people on the property, vendors, vehicles, music and hours. Get the permitted use in writing and confirm platform rules and local requirements. If those pieces do not fit, choose a venue that offers weddings directly.
Forrest Hills Resort: cabins and group lodging in Dahlonega
Forrest Hills directly offers weddings, micro weddings and elopements alongside optional on-site lodging. Its accommodations include cabins, rooms, suites and private group lodges.
This is an option when your priority is bringing the celebration and overnight stay into one plan. Ask its wedding team which space fits your event, how many guests can stay and what the weather backup includes. A lodging reservation and wedding package are separate arrangements to confirm.
Brasstown Valley: wedding spaces and cottage-style lodging
Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa offers dedicated wedding venues and accommodations in Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Lodging options include its lodge, cottages and spa suite.
The resort says cottage bedrooms are rented individually and cottage parlors can be rented separately. Ask whether your group can reserve the rooms and shared space you need, rather than assuming a cottage booking is an exclusive house rental. Confirm the wedding space, catering arrangements and overnight reservations with its team.
Compare the whole wedding plan
- Private rental: verify the exact event permission, platform rules, visitor count, parking, toilets, vendors and indoor backup before paying.
- Forrest Hills: compare the wedding package and optional cabins or group lodging together.
- Brasstown Valley: compare the wedding space with lodge or cottage rooms, and confirm shared spaces separately.
Request itemized quotes for your date. Overnight capacity, event capacity and the number of people allowed on the property are different limits.
What I would check for photographs
Walk through where each part of the day happens: getting ready, the ceremony, family portraits and the reception. I would ask where everyone gathers if rain moves the ceremony indoors and whether that space has room for the guest count and photographs.
Keep family portraits close to the ceremony if possible. Agree on a short group list and leave room for couple portraits without a long drive away from your guests. Ask about vendor access times so we can build coverage around the actual schedule.

Confirm the permitted celebration in writing, the complete event and lodging cost, cancellation terms, accessible routes, parking, vendor requirements and weather arrangements. Ask whether rehearsal or welcome gatherings need their own permission.
