The song you walk into your ceremony with can be something familiar, something unexpected or something that means a lot to the two of you. There is no single choice you need to get right.
Start by listening together
Make a short list and listen to the whole recording. Think about the words, the pace and how you feel when you hear it. An instrumental version can feel quite different from the original.
Choose the exact version
Share the artist, recording and a link with your DJ or musicians. If you want the entrance to begin at a particular moment, note the timestamp and discuss whether an edit or live arrangement is needed.
Talk through the entrances
Decide who is walking in, in what order and whether they share one song or use separate pieces. Your coordinator or officiant can help work out the cues and what happens if the walk takes longer than expected.
Check the ceremony requirements
Ask your venue and officiant about any music requirements before settling on the choices. Confirm how the sound will be played and who will be responsible for starting it.
Remember the way out
Choose the music for after the ceremony too. Then put the final versions and cues in one place for the people running the day.
