Apply through Montgomery County
Montgomery County lists its marriage license office at 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 502, Clarksville. Both applicants must appear and provide government photo identification with date of birth. Read its application instructions for the personal information and any additional documents you need.
Know the timing and published fees
The county lists a $107.50 application fee, reduced to $47.50 with its qualifying four hour premarital course and completed certificate. Card processing charges apply. Confirm the total and accepted documents before visiting.
There is no waiting period; the license must be used within 30 days. A Montgomery County license is valid throughout Tennessee.

Arrange an officiant before your date
The County Clerk does not conduct marriage ceremonies or recommend officiants. Arrange an authorized officiant and your ceremony location separately. The county says the officiant must return the completed license within three days after the marriage.
Build coverage around the actual ceremony
Do not plan photography around an assumed ceremony at the license counter. Once you have the officiant’s time and location, we can discuss getting ready, vows and portraits as one route.
