St. James Parish: check eligibility first
St. James asks couples to consult clergy at least 90 days before setting wedding plans. Its current page reserves downtown church weddings for parishioners and their children or grandchildren, with separate rules for Mt. Lebanon Chapel.
Speak to the parish before reserving other vendors. Ask about ceremony preparation, guest arrangements and photography positions during the service.
Basilica Shrine of Saint Mary
Contact the Basilica parish directly about marriage preparation, eligibility, available dates and the ceremony process. Ask which parts of the church can be photographed, whether flash is permitted and how family portraits fit after the service.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
St. Paul’s is at 16 North 16th Street in Wilmington. Contact its parish office for current wedding guidelines and available dates. A beautiful exterior does not establish wedding availability or permission for a portrait session.

I would start with the church’s rules for movement, flash and available portrait time. Share any limits with us before choosing coverage, so the photographs respect the service and the people taking part.
Prepare a short family grouping list and confirm where everyone will gather afterward. If your reception is elsewhere, include travel and time for couple portraits in the plan.
